Riparian Chorus on the Passaic River

Collecting Our Stories

The waters of the Passaic River are home to so many stories, including our own. We live, we work, we play, we spend our summers lounging in the parks and winters gazing at the snow falling on its trees and freezing the edges of its waters. We have beautiful stories and hard stories. Every friend, family and community around the river have so many different kinds of stories to tell. We are here to document our stories and create a record of our community’s connection to the Passaic River. With these stories we will create books, public art along the waterfront and a web archive for public use. With the web archive, these stories will be publicly shared so you can use them for your own laughs, catharsis, knowledge or advocacy work about the watershed.

Sign up here for more information about the project or you can add your story to the archive! Chat with us about how the Passaic River is part of you! We can chat (our favorite way of connecting!), you can send in a voice note or video clip or you can send us an email or letter telling your stories and gathering history about the real people around the Passaic . This archive reflects the people who participate so add your own to make it reflect your experience and history!
