ABSTRACT: The Passaic River, a water body that spans from one of the most clean waters on the east coast to one of the most polluted water bodies on the planet, is a fully endowed superfund site downstream from the cities and urban development. We are creating editioned books from the collected materials during workshops and field visits, some materials toxic that will degrade over time, some drawings and writings from community members. The editioned books will be auctioned for water conservation efforts at the site. And, a companion press will be made that is available (for cheap or even free) for broad public distribution that comes with water conservation toolkits including cheaply made sensors. This book and toolkit is built for community members to assess the waters where they eat and play along the river.
